the yoomi promise
As parents ourselves, our mission was to create a new generation of baby bottles that would help make feeding time a little easier for parents. Have we succeeded? Well we think so! We’ve received some amazing awards from the industry, some fantastic endorsements from the experts but most rewarding of all, some wonderful feedback from parents. Every week parents are telling us that yoomi has made their life a little easier … especially when facing the challenges of transitioning their baby from breast to bottle.
So, we were wondering … have you been trying to introduce a bottle but your baby won’t latch on? Are you afraid of investing in yet another bottle only to have your baby reject the teat again? Are you worried that your baby won’t go back to the breast after trying a bottle?
Don’t be, we’re so sure that yoomi can help your baby transition from breast to bottle and back again that we’re offering our online customers a 14 day money back guarantee. Just try yoomi for 1 week … and if your baby hasn’t made the transition, send the bottles back for a hassle free refund.
What makes us so confident? Well, you do. Parents tell us that the constant flow of perfectly warm feed that doesn’t cool down really helps … that your babies really like our soft, naturally shaped teat …. and that the built-in warmer creates a naturally warm teat that makes yoomi the most gentle way to introduce a first bottle to breastfed babies.
So, if you need some help, don’t worry, we’ll do all we can … promise :)

Formula Feeding Guidelines and how yoomi fits in with these…..
With the Baby Show coming up in London next week, our mind is focussed on our customers; what questions we’ll get asked and what people think of our product.
One topic that often comes up during chats is ‘how does yoomi fit in when you’re formula feeding?’
The simple answer to this is, ‘just like any other bottle warming device.’
However, read on to see why yoomi is the best and safest warming system on the market…..
What are the current feeding guidelines?
National Guidelines for the safe preparation and storage of feeds are set by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and the Department of Health (DoH).
The World Health Organisation (WHO) adopts similar guidelines. Briefly, the Guidelines state that a bottle should be made up fresh for each feed.
The Guidelines accept that there are times when ‘this may not be practical and feeds need to be made up in advance’. i.e. baby left with carers, when travelling etc. In these situations, you are advised to prepare your feed as per the guidelines, store in the fridge and use within 24 hours.
The Guidelines advise that stored feeds should be re-warmed using a bottle warmer or place bottle in warm water – never in a microwave. Any feed that’s not used within 2 hours needs to be discarded, and should always be transported in a cool bag.

How does yoomi fit within the current guidelines?
The yoomi bottle (on its own) can be used to make up fresh feeds, just like any other feeding bottle.
The yoomi bottle and warmer can be used for:
- warming up expressed breast milk that has been stored in the fridge
- warming up ready to use carton formula feeds
- warming up feeds that have been prepared in advance (as above).
.
Why is yoomi the best and safest feed warming system on the market?
- Safe & Hygienic – Conventional bottle warmers will warm the entire bottle of feed and so any bacteria in the feed will start to multiple immediately upon warming. If baby takes an hour to drink its feed, the bacteria has had an hour to multiple. The yoomi warmer only warms the feed the baby drinks, leaving very little time for the bacteria to multiple. If baby takes an hour to feed, the feed will remain cold until baby starts to drink, thereby minimising bacterial growth.
- Quick – Conventional bottle warmers will take approx 6 mins to warm fridge temperature milk. Yoomi takes 60 seconds.
- Perfectly safe temperature – Unlike other warmers, there is no second guessing whether the temperature is correct, yoomi warms to perfect breast milk temperature every time.
- Portable – no plugs, no batteries and no more carrying around flasks of boiling water
- The Safer Option – the guidelines strongly recommend against using the microwave to warm feeds due to the feed developing hot spots. We have been told that some parents are no longer using the microwave to warm baby’s feed due to yoomi being just as quick but a safer option. We are pleased that we have in this respect improved safety for babies.

Help on safely storing and using expressed breast milk

We’re proud to say that many of our mums (and dads) use yoomi with expressed breast milk. Mums express milk for a host of reasons, but getting babies to accept expressed milk from a bottle can sometimes be a struggle. Well, yoomi is a lovely way to introduce that first bottle to breastfed babies. Yoomi cleverly warms the expressed breast milk to the EXACT temperature of breast milk, not only preserving all the goodness found in breast milk but also providing the familiarity and comfort needed to help baby switch from breast to bottle, and back again. For this reason, mums often ask us for help on how to safely store and thaw their expressed breast milk, so we thought it was about time we posted up some guidance!
So, for mums who are looking to return to work and want to continue giving their babies breast milk, for mums who are combination feeding so dad can give the occasional bottle, or for mums who are trying to ease the sometimes difficult transition from breast to bottle, here are some easy to follow guidelines to help you safely store, thaw and use your precious expressed breast milk! By the way, we used information from the NHS (www.nhs.uk) and The Breast Feeding Network (www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk), as references.
